Argentinian forward Diego Maradona is considered one of the best players of all time, largely thanks to the fact he practically won Argentina the World Cup on his own. In 1986 he was in great form, and when his Argentina side came up against England, he knew he was going to have to put on a show.

Maradona tapped his first goal in that game in with his hand in what became known as the “Hand of God,” but he wasn’t done making the headlines. Just four minutes after angering the English team by cheating, he then went on to score the “Goal of the Century.”

Maradona danced his way through half of the English players before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. His performances inspired his team to lift the World Cup, and it all started with the Hand of God.
