Conor McGregor Accused of Being ‘Cheap’ After Buying Head Chef a Rolex
Conor McGregor recently bought the head chef at one of his establishments a Rolex to celebrate the chef’s 50th birthday. If you ask us, a Rolex is a generous gift, and the chef seemed to be quite happy about it. Fans, though, weren’t the least bit amused.
An Expensive Gift
A clip making the rounds on social media shows McGregor visiting one of his establishments in order to wish the head chef a happy birthday. The video shows the chef, surrounded by staff who are all smiling and clapping, being approached by the boxer who said, “A big happy birthday. Happy 50th birthday to you. I want to thank you for all the amazing work you do, we are very grateful to have you here. I have a big gift for you. I want to give it to you on your 50th birthday. You’ve joined the Rolex club. Your work is astounding, mate. Keep going, we appreciate you.”
Apparently, Not Expensive Enough
Despite the gift being quite expensive – and the fact that McGregor isn’t required to give his staff birthday presents – the internet wasn’t satisfied. One person took to social media to write, “Bro couldn’t even give him a nice Rolex.” Another chimed in, “Why do I get the feeling it’s a re-gift? You know? Like Connor found one laying around in his closet and was like ‘I’ll give it to my head chef.’” While a third person pointed out, “His head chef is already wearing a Rolex.”
And that, folks, is our daily reminder that no good deed goes unpunished.
