When interviewed as he watched the Colts practice, Peyton Manning was asked on his thoughts about Andrew Luck. Manning was only hoping for good things as far as Luck and the Colts were concerned. The legendary quarterback believes Luck will be ready to hit the ground running when the season kicks off soon. Luck was ruled out of preseason due to injury concerns, which is all too familiar for Colts fans over the years. During the third game of the preseason, however, Luck announced he was retiring.

Peyton Manning just wanted to encourage Luck because he knew how much he wants to be out on the field doing the thing he loves. Manning said he understands the hardest thing is not being able to step out with your teammates, and all Luck will want to be doing is participating.

Unfortunately for Luck, and the Colts, the quarterback hasn’t been declared fit for a lot of his recent seasons. Things started well for Luck and he made 51 consecutive starts, but the injury problems began in 2015. He suffered a shoulder injury and a torn abdominal muscle in 2015, and the shoulder would be a recurring problem throughout 2016 and 2017. While he was named Comeback Player of the Year in 2018, Luck decided to retire because all of the injuries he has had during his six years in the NFL have made him lose his love for the game.
