There are times that it can seem like the weirdest things happen on Facebook. A significant chunk of this comes from the odd items — both handmade and otherwise — that people post for sale on the social media platform.

Can We Double-Check That?

When you look on Facebook Marketplace, you probably expect the usual fare. Maybe there's some furniture or clothes that people are trying to get rid of. You probably wouldn't expect to see a listing for an amber figure that's 40 million years old. It sounds like a steal for only $100 but it's only if it's real.

Is There High Demand for This?

There are a lot of ways to make money working with pets. A few common options include working as a vet or even as a groomer. We're not so sure that we would have come up with a pet eyebrow business all on our own.

For one, it seems like a very specific niche that, honestly, doesn't sound very profitable. Although, maybe this person found a market of pets who need to get ready for a night out.

In this specific post on Facebook Marketplace, this person is selling the bookshelf pictured. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the very confusing content. Liking the movie Shrek is understandable but this seems to go a little bit further beyond.

Another question that this picture raises is why they have so many copies of the same Shrek movie, given that there are at least a few other movies in the franchise for a little variety but we can appreciate the consistency.

Not a Great Sell

There are some ways to experience more success on Facebook Marketplace. For instance, make the product you're selling seem good or beneficial so people want to buy it.

In this case, we're not quite sure if selling this tanning bed is a case of poor marketing and poor taste. We're not sure that anyone will want to tan with the reminder that it's a dangerous practice already attached to the sales pitch.
