Sometimes if a Super Bowl goes to overtime, it’s because both teams are too scared of losing to make major offensive plays. This was not one of those overtime games, and it had basically a bit of everything. This was possibly Joe Montana’s defining moment as a quarterback and the first Super Bowl classic. Montana led the plaudits but didn’t win the MVP, that was given to Jerry Rice. The game was close the whole way through and was one that you really couldn’t tell which way it was going to go.
